Loving Hut

Homemade meals was how we rolled for our Thankgiving trip to California, however there were a few times that I was able try restaurants; this one in particular was 100% Vegan.  Loving Hut was a place I found when my family was all going to In & Out Burger for lunch and if I wanted more than French Fries I needed to find something else, fast.

I Googled Vegan food near-by my parents place and found Loving Hut in Upland. The best part about finding this place was I discovered that there is also a location in Chicago…and even better, every location has a different menu! Looking forward to checking out the one in North Chicago soon.

For lunch Todd, my brother-in-law Steve, sister Sandy and I tried a ton of food! I started with a Rose Lemonade. It was difficult to not drink it all before getting home where I could take a picture of it. Have I told you about my love of floral drinks yet?

We tried a few appetizers – Spring Rolls (left) and the special of the day “Cheese” Sticks (right) – both were accompanied by great dipping sauces.  It was a warm day, so the lemonade and cool Spring Rolls were and excellent choice.  I tried the “Cheese” Sticks and felt they were spot on…even Todd, who lives in both worlds, was pretty impressed by these.

My main course was the Heavenly Salad. This included shredded cabbage, fresh herbs and soy protein all tossed with Vinaigrette and crushed peanuts.  It was cool, crisp and fresh which is what I needed on the unseasonably hot day it was – I thoroughly enjoyed this dish.

Not pictured, but also tried: Crispy Rolls, Crunchy Gold, Good Wife’s Tofu, Loving Fried Rice, Spicy General Tzo’s and and Kung Pao Wow. For Dessert – Coconut Cream Pie and Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies.  I wasn’t lying when we said we tried a ton of food.

Give Loving Hut a try if there is one nearby you. Follow them on Twitter, Like them on Facebook and live by their motto: Be Vegan, Make Peace.

  1. My mom helped several of the CA Loving Huts with their menus! Good stuff.
