Friday Top Five – Volume 11: Kitchen Gadgets

We love to eat food, and by evidence of this blog we love to make food too. We couldn’t make all these wonderful creations without our trusty kitchen tools and gizmos. Today for our Friday Top Five we bring to you our Top Five favorite kitchen gadgets. Happy Friday!

Wireless Immersion Blender. From soups to smoothies to salad dressing and pasta sauce, this guy comes in handy in a large percentage of my cooking.

My Sauté Pan. This baby gets a quite a work-out. It’s my go-to pan for most of my stove top cooking and I’m pretty sure it never gets put away; it goes from stove to dishwasher and back to stove each week. I don’t know how I ever made a meal without it. If you own one, you know what I’m talking about. If you don’t, go buy yourself a present, you deserve it after all.

Kitchen Aid Mixer.  I was deathly afraid of my mixer when I first got it. Sitting under my work table for about 8 months, it took starting this blog to get me to use it. Now, I don’t know how I lived without it. *Sigh*

Chopsticks. You read that right. These little suckers come in all sorts of handy in the kitchen. Whether its flipping delicate omlets or crepes, or stirring coffee grounds in your french press to ensure you are making an excellent cup of joe, these do the trick! So think twice before tossing these out with your leftover take out!

Vitamix. This is a seriously serious machine. I’ve only made smoothies so far, but gone are the days of random chunks of frozen fruit or seeds that get caught in your teeth. The Vitamix obliterates everything in its path.

What is your favorite kitchen gadget(s)?

I’m somewhat disappointed I didn’t take up my mom’s offer on getting a Breville Wok. Seems like you all use yours frequently!

  2. Definitely my immersion blender (because it’s so much easier to clean than a blender for smoothies) and my food processor. I use that almost weekly to make dips and lots of raw desserts.
