Apple Crisp Face Off
Has anyone else noticed that October is pretty much over? What the heck? It feels like this month, my favorite month, started last week, and now I look at the calendar and its over? I’m a bit annoyed and mostly mad at myself for not for not taking a break to enjoy it. Ugh.
And even though October has decided to peace out early, it is now prime time for apples. Yay! Everywhere is filled with local apples from Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan. There are a ton of different varieties to choose from and so many ways to use them, its just silly for us not to have them as our featured ingredient for this week’s Face Off. One of the dessert doesn’t totally freak me out, making a crisp or a crumble is pretty freaking easy. Nothing has to rise or set or whatever, they are bunch of apples with a delicious topping. Both of our recipes can be made gluten free, vegan, or both if you prefer. Just sub in the ingredients that you want, and toss in the over for 30-40 minutes, and voila, you have dessert!
So make yourself a crisp/crumble and tell November to relax.
