ABOUT
Morgan
Let’s be honest about two things: 1. I like to eat and 2. at one point or another I’ve adhered to some sort of dietary restriction. Starting off Vegetarian, then Vegan, followed by Pescetarian, back to Omnivore, to Gluten Free and ending somewhere in the middle of all them. At the moment, I’m eating sustainability, responsibly, and am back to Gluten Free.
But back to point number one. Growing up with parents who always told me to try things “at least once,” has helped me to discover some of my favorite foods. Eating lobster at the age of 4, asking my mom if I could be vegetarian in 5th grade, and recently tasting my first chicken heart (which tastes like chicken, in case you were wondering) helped me learn not to judge things too quickly. Which is why one of my favorite places to eat in Chicago is a small taqueria outside the train I take to work every day.
Oh, by the way I’m Morgan, and thanks for stopping by!
Susan
I wasn’t always Vegan, not even Vegetarian. I was definitely raised on a standard meat & potato diet my entire life. My sister went Vegan once and I recall saying “What will she eat? I could never do that!” Well, one day I ate my own words (but don’t worry, they were Vegan).
travel to be an amazing feat. If I’m not in my kitchen, you can find me at a concert or jet-setting to another state.
I’m definitely not a professional chef, but I sure love to cook and bake – taught by the best, my mother. I’m also far from a food critic, but I love the challenge of finding cruelty-free eats wherever I go. Let me be the second to welcome you to our blog.
Fried Tofu
Fried Tofu. The story of two friends with different views on food, coming together on one blog. Susan, the Vegan, Morgan, the not-so-Vegan, working to share recipes, travel experiences, totally awesome products and much more. The main focus will be recipe Face Offs, where we put our own spin on one dish.
So sit down and stay awhile… it’s bound to get fun at some point….right?

Hello.
Love your blog. I nominated it for a Leibster Award http://herbifit.wordpress.com/2012/12/01/liebster-award/
Hi, I work with your dad, Todd. He talks about you all the time and I am fascinated with healthy eating/lifestyle so he was so kind to pass along your blog to me. I think this is so awesome! I look forward to learning some new recipies on here. My cousin is a vegan too, she sent me this link which I thought you might enjoy as well. http://www.buzzfeed.com/expresident/easy-vegan-recipes
Glad you like it and thank you for sharing the link to the vegan recipes! Susan and I are always looking for inspiration and these look amazing!
I’ve been lucky to be introduced to delicious vegan meals by my son, Tyler, & we’ve shared many tasty adventures. Ideas for meatless/meatlesser meals should always include a lasagne. What do you have? Carol Wallace
We definitely have some meatless lasagnas we’ll be sharing with everyone. Carol, you’ve inspired us to Face Off Lasagna sometime this winter – look forward to that!
I love this duel recipe concept! Looking forward to reading more posts.
I love your blog, girls!! Morgan I am so much like you on my food lifestyle journey…except never vegan. This is so cool!
